This is Hub 8's 2015 entry for the Manaiakalani Film Festival. 

This film is about a group of learners who reluctantly begin a writing test given to them by their teacher. Their teacher has no idea that the learners have a sneaky plan to get out of doing the test.

Dear Mr and Mrs Twit,

I don't know why you are making plans, scaring each other and saying rude and offensive stuff to each other. I think you guys like it, but it's not ok.

Think about how you would feel if I walked up to you and said something mean or hurt you! You need to understand that you are both humans and you both have feelings! Soon this will become a habit and we don't want you to hurt others In the world. I want you to maybe buy each other a kitten to play with, maybe do some chores for each other, or just do something nice for a change! So I am asking you to be kind to each other and realize both of you will have feelings. Thank you,

Are you asking me to change? I mean, you can't just ask someone to change, but, well, I get what you mean, we are nasty, but that's just us. I mean, I could, but I couldn't, It's not happening. Full stop, sorry, I'm not changing, Unless Mr twit changes, I can't, just too hard. Now, don't beg me, because i'm not in the mood. Hub 8’s parrot friend

Lovable lovable and lovable again, hub 8 will soon be getting a parrot friend!

We will be for certain getting a parrot, and that's for sure!

Reason 1: Parrots are very colorful birds and I was going to chose a dove they are boring birds, as in BORING birds they are NOT colorful and we NEED a parrot.

Reason 2: Parrots imitate human speech, which basically means that they copy almost everything you say!

Reason 3: They are birds that love to learn tricks and language from YOU so you get a go at teaching her/him!

Reason 4: They can care for themselves as well, so you are not exactly their slaves, but don’t leave them alone, they need fun and loving care!

Those are my reasons that we NEED pet parrot for the class, so i’m begging you,

Please please please please please please please please please please get us a pet parrot!

Then you give your final comment (conclusion) - says what has happened because of the process of their success

Lorde

At just 18, Lorde has been successful in singing and she is now famous.

She reached this by using lots of skills and strategies.

This famous musician was born on November 7 in 1996 and at the age of five, she joined a drama group and developed public speaking skills. She would have needed to have those lessons first to get into the habit of drama and speech so she would feel more confident on stage.

In May 2009, Lorde and her friend Louis McDonald won the Belmont Intermediate School  talent show as a duo, This means she has become a good singer but still may need a little more practise

Then, in 2011, a company hired vocal coach Frances Dickinson to give Lorde singing lessons twice a week for a year. She also would need these lessons to learn how to sing properly not scratchy (also because I would think that if I wanted to be a good singer, I would want those lessons.) By the time her 18th birthday came she had made around $11 million dollars. This is a BIG mark of success. Then not long after that, she did her first soundtrack for Mockingjay.

If I was Lorde, I would feel so impressed with myself!

Because of her success, her singing dream is a success!

My first big ride by Bella P

My dad brought out the big bike and i'm talking BIG!

I walked over to the bike and asked my dad a few questions and surprisingly the man who does not normally know the answers to my questions answered with good not weird answers (like he normally does!)

First I sat on the bike to get use to how it feels then I got a little butterfly in my stomach when I started peddling on the spot to get use to peddling! Next I rode the bike slowly with my dad holding on to me and the bike, Dad said to me 'I won't let you go until you are ready!'  That's the point of the story my brother comes in! He was playing on his  bike while I was trying to get use to riding my bike! Talk about annoying brothers! I slowed down because I was getting a waterfall of anxiety and that's the point I felt a lot better because it sounded like it was singing a song to me because the beads on the wheel  where moving around and making jingling sounds! Then I took a deep breath and asked dad to let go, just then I changed my mind and screamed 'DAD DON'T LET GO!' Then I decided for real this time that I will try to do it myself, I sat up straight, feet on the pedals,peddled, and finally after a lot of drama, I got it! yes that's right I had been successful!

I felt so good I just wanted to hug the universe and I felt so good that I even set up and obstacle course!

That was the day I learnt how to ride my big bike

and i'm talking BIG!

Feeding Willy!

I was anxious at first but then it all cleared away...

When I saw Willy!

He was so cute, gorgeous and beautiful!

He was so amazingly kind and gentle, and when he ate he went 'crunch,crunch'

Well, I found that out after we fed him! Because I didn't know how loudly he ate! We fed him carrots because that's all he would eat! (well he probably ate berries and stuff like that to but you know what I mean!) and that went on for a little while because mum was loving  it and there were a lot of carrots! After what felt like hours of feeding we got to pat him! We we're being told about his  favorite places to be pat, So we had a go and he absolutely loved it! So we did it some more, and some more, and some more… until we got tired!
