This is Hub 8's 2015 entry for the Manaiakalani Film Festival. 

This film is about a group of learners who reluctantly begin a writing test given to them by their teacher. Their teacher has no idea that the learners have a sneaky plan to get out of doing the test.

The Fair: Zorb balls

The zorb ball are hard to run in. When you run into each other the zorb balls go boing. You can roll down little hills without getting hurt. The Zorb balls tastes like plastic. it sounds loud if you get crashed over or rolled around. It was fun, awesome and exciting. You can only sound air. It Feels compatible.The zorb balls looks like the balls in jurassic world. You can have battles and bang them over!!!

Inside Kyan's iPad by Dan

We have been learning about narratives. A narrative is a made up story. This week we made up stories to answer this question: 

If you could go anywhere in the holidays where would you go?

In the holidays me and Thomas went to Kyan's house. We played on his iPad then it turned into a portal and suck us all up. Thomas went first then Kyan then some red particles came out and it suck Dan in and turned Dan bad. We first went in to Jurassic park the game. First I saw them Then I made a bow. By time I made the bow they were gone. Then I Transported to the next game called pixel gunner. They spotted me then they started shooting me and then I saw them and got my sniper. I almost got them but they dodged it and almost shot me with his bow then I got lots of money and bought the death machine gun and shot everywhere to make sure Kyan and Thomas wouldn't survive. They didn't survive but they respond and tried to shot me but missed. Then I transported into clumsy ninja and I was the big samoir and they were the clumsy ninja and tried to fight me then I grabbed kyan then He found the first Orb and then we transported to the last minecraft the hardest One I collected wood and then went into a cave then I found the transporter to the real world and transported to there and when I went Thomas and Kyan came then Kyans mum came and saw us all hurt and muddy and we went home and had a shower  I said best holiday ever.

Monster School by Dan V

Once there was a little monster as scary as an adult monster.  The little monster made a monster school for adults. He helped monsters to be scary. He taught them until they were scary enough to scare the people. When all of the adult monsters were good he let them free to scare people. When the little monster was an adult he turned to a beast. He eats monsters for diner. He eats one hundred zombies and people for lunch. He has super thick skin that only one thing can break it. A hundred years later he went to battle and he fought the army. When he went to battle he figured out his weakness that they used on his farther. It was that he didn't survive from the nuclear bombs. He needed more power. When he returned, the people found out his weakness. Then he went to battle and died. The people were happy and could destroy the rest of the monsters with the nuclear bombs. Then when they did it they were all happy and didn't have to worry.

               

Notch by Dan

Notch was  successful at programming. He was good at programming because he praised programming at home and school so he can make awesome games like minecraft. One of the most best and famous games was made by Notch.He was one of the most amazing programmers in the world! He started from good to great. So he made games and practiced them to see if they are good or not. He wanted lots of people to like the game so he made it as cool as he could so he made portals to the nether and the end portals and lots of bosses like the wither and ender dragon so when someone played his games they would like it. He was very determined and he put lots of hard work in his games and made famous games like minecraft. In his games he made lots of stuff in minecraft like mobs he made it so you can play it on computer,iPod,iPad,iPhone,Xbox,phone,tablet and play station. We can play without intent and he made crafty Steve he is great at programming in minecraft he put in stuff that is real and not real stuff so people can learn new stuff like red stone and made up stuff but already have a name like skeletons and creepers. Creepers were meant to be pigs but it didn't come out right so he made it a creeper then he made a pig. He made it because it was a mistake with the pig then he practiced some more and then made it.And that how he became successful.

Learning to swim by Dan V

I went to swimming with my Brother,Sister,Mum and Dad in the weekends.First I went into the water with my Dad my Dad held on to me I was excited. Then I went underwater and  touched the bottom of the pool.I went there because I wanted to swim. The pool was not that deep.I was four years old. I started to kick. The pool at swimtastic then my Dad and I kicked to the end of the pool. My Dad let go of me and I kicked but didn't swim to the end of the pool.
