321 blast off! I'm going as fast as lightning and I make a glittery sparkle. I am the most colourful firework like a rainbow. Crash! I banged in to mars. I am as bright as the sun. Don't touch me I am as hot as a microwave. I am not stopping. I have so much energy like electricity. I don't get cold I am hotter than the oven. I am sparkling in to space like a firework. No more for me I'm turning as black as an black bird. Now it's time to make a colourful firework like a rainbow when I go boom boom! Wee I will not end this. This is so fun. Here I go again. Wee I will go back into space. Yay I am back in space now. I am in mars. I had the best day ever.

How to make a traffic light drink

What you need:a cup,orange juice,cordial,food colouring,a spoon

1. Get a cup and pour 3 quaters of orange juice.
2. Get some cordial and pore it in.
3. Now put two or three drops of food colouring.
4. Now you can drink it.

The balloon experiment.

Materials

Two chairs, String,1 Straw, Sissors, 1 Balloon, Sticky tape

1. Put two chairs as far as you think.
2. Put the string through the straw.
3. Then tie some string to the chairs.
4. Blow up the balloon and stick it to the straw.
5. Then let it go and have fun.
6. Take it off and blow it up again.

Snails and Slugs!

Today we have been learning all about 'The Living World.'

One of the experiences was to observe and investigate the similarities and differences between snails and slugs.

We began we wonder about a lot of things, for example:

Why do snails move slowly?

Why do snails have tiny eyes?

Are snails carnivores or herbivores?

Are slugs and snails related?

Why do they like to stick together in large groups?

Why do they have slime or goo?

This afternoon for elearning we completed the Cyber Safety Quiz.  This was a great opportunity for us to discuss what we knew about being safe online with a buddy.

Then we came together to discuss and reflect on what we had learned and what we need to become more aware of when using the internet.

Painting with straws: Part 1

We have been having a go at creating abstract paintings by blowing through straws.

We watched these videos and had lots of time to think about and discuss this new technique. Then we had a go using water on the concrete outside:

Then we practiced this technique using paint on paper. It was more tricky than we thought!

This week for our concept "What makes a successful learner?" we had a challenge....

To collaborate to create a way of getting our toy animal across the DANGEROUS RIVER!!

We were given:

x10 sheets of paper / x1 piece of string / x1 yoghurt container / x2 straws / x8 rubber bands / x1 animal

We had only 20 minutes.  Here are some of the things we constructed...
