I am in a shop and I got bought. I am at someone's home. Now I am in the grass. Now I am lit. Wow I am up in the sky. Off I go to Queenstown. I am having fun at Queenstown. It was fun. I was as pink as a pig. I was as blue as the sky. I was as green as the grass. I was as red as lava. I was as white as the a wall. I was as yellow as the sun. I am floating back to the ground. The end.

On Athletics day we had games to play. It was fun. We played the games. We did it at Stonefields School. There were 22 games to play. We played the games for the whole day. We did it after lunch and after morning tea. We were doing it on the field and we did it on the courts. There was 20 on the field and there was 2 on the courts. We had fun playing the games on Wednesday.

The School Fair

I had some chips with tomato sauce and I had lollies. I won a money box. It was a elephant. I bought a flower. It was orange. I had a fun time at the school fair. I had two cupcakes. I loved the cupcakes. It was fun. Oliver and me we got 2 elephant money boxes. When I got home Dad gave us money.

Stonefields School's first Triathlon!

It was great to see so many learners for LH2 participating in the triathlon today. After biking, swimming and running the long course it is not surprising our learners were very tired by the end of the day!

Traffic light

1. First you need to put the red colouring into the cup.
2. Then you need to put the orange juice in the cup.
3. Third you put the cordial in the cup.
4. Forth you put the green food colouring in the cup.
5. Now we have finished.

Cross Country

Today we had the school cross country!

We had to run around the field, through and around the school, and then around the field again.

The older learners had to even run around the wetlands! 

When we weren't running we got to watch and cheer for our friends, which was really exciting.

Once we finished the race we were given a hot chocolate to warm ourselves up.

Traffic Light Drink!

Today we had an exciting science experiment... we learned how to make a traffic light drink.

It was interesting to see that the drink can have different layers of colour.

Sharing by halves and quarters!

Today we had to connect our knowledge from last week about fractions.

Painting with straws: Part 1

We have been having a go at creating abstract paintings by blowing through straws.

We watched these videos and had lots of time to think about and discuss this new technique. Then we had a go using water on the concrete outside:

Then we practiced this technique using paint on paper. It was more tricky than we thought!

What are we cooking today?

It certainly smells pretty yummy in the kitchens at Stonefields this morning! We have two break through groups cooking today. We have build our knowledge about the recipes and the ingredients we need. Today we are applying our understanding by cooking macaroni cheese and chocolate chip cookies. Yum! Yum!

Celebrating St Patrick!

HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY!

Today we learned what St Patrick's Day is and why it is celebrated.

We also made shamrocks (four leaf clovers) and leprechaun hats to honour the Irish culture.
