Cross Country

Today we had the school cross country!

We had to run around the field, through and around the school, and then around the field again.

The older learners had to even run around the wetlands!

When we weren't running we got to watch and cheer for our friends, which was really exciting.

Once we finished the race we were given a hot chocolate to warm ourselves up.

Here are some photos from the day....

Bubble Painting!

Today we got to experience science and art at the same time...

We spent time learning all about bubbles, like how they are made, why they pop and what they look like in slow motion.

Here's a video of what we saw...

Then we learned how to use bubbles in art.  We added paint to the bubble mixture we had already made.  Next we used straws to blow bubbles so that we could put the paper onto the bubbles. When the bubbles popped they let prints on the paper!

Here are some photos of us in action...

Here you can see we are sharing the blocks evenly into halves and quarters...

Japanese Experience

Last week we were lucky enough to have two people visit us from Japan. They taught us how to count, read a story to us, taught us a song and shared what a typical school day in Japan was like.

Our first trusted learners

In Hub 2 we now have quite a group of trusted learners!

Each child has made an appointment with the teacher and explained lots of reasons why they should receive a trust licence. The teachers were really impressed with all the ideas these children shared and have been equally impressed with how they have used their extra trust so far.
