Games

We had a fabulous event in the library today where Griffin and his club launched some of the games they have been creating.  They showed us what they had made and how they made them.  They presented some clear explanations about how the games work and answered some interesting questions from other learners.

Here are the links to their games:

We then learned that Macklin was doing a similar thing for his breakthrough, so he shared his game too.

Then all of the game developers got together and shared ideas for what they could do next.

The programme they used to make these games was Flowlab.  Keep an eye out because if you would like some help getting started making your own games, we will have another event in the library where they will show us how.

Mid Winter Christmas Tree Challenge

Today we had another collaborative challenge! We had so much fun collaborating with each other to successfully build a christmas tree in only 8 minutes!

We had to create a mid winter christmas tree for our hub using the following materials:

2 metres of tape
2 metres of string
5 colours of A4 paper
1 square of tinfoil
10 sheets of A1 newspaper
Scissors

Our success criteria was:

The christmas tree is able to stand by itself
There will be at least 4 branches
The christmas tree is a traditional christmas tree shape
There are attractive decorations on our christmas tress

Our teachers judged our christmas trees on the following criteria:

Height of tree
Strength of branches
Attractiveness of decorations

The Party in my Garage

I had a party on Saturday. It was in my garage. It was my brother's birthday. First we played pass the parcel. Next we had a swim. It was fun. I had food at the party. I had train cookies. They were crunchy.
